Description

The CDW is a conveyor discharge weigher and is available in two versions: Standard and XL. It records conveyor capacities of up to 25 m³/h. It is used when conventional built-in belt scales or solid flow meters are not suitable due to low conveying capacity, special material properties or difficult installation situations. The weighing is static, therefore the CDW conveyor discharge weigher achieves very accurate measurement results.

Design and functionality

The conveyor discharge weigher consists of a support frame with load cells. The rectangular weighing hopper has a discharge flap. The CDW-XL has two discharge flaps. The discharge flap is pneumatically controlled. The position of the flap (open or closed) is monitored by a proximity switch (position monitoring).

The support frame is permanently installed at the discharge point of the conveyor unit. The weighing hopper is suspended from three load cells.

Materials and safety

All wear-relevant parts of the hopper and the discharge flaps are made of Hardox HB 400. For safety reasons, the scale is equipped with a protective grille.

Functioning

The bulk material is fed to the conveyor discharge weigher via a conveyor unit, such as a conveyor belt or conveyor trough. It fills the weighing hopper until a defined filling weight (batch cycle weight) is reached.

Then the feed is briefly stopped for approx. 5 seconds and the weighing hopper is weighed statically. The discharge flap opens and the hopper is emptied.

The flap(s) close again and the empty hopper is weighed again. The batch weight is calculated from the full and empty weights and added to the quantity counter.

At the same time, the electronics also generate the conveyor capacity in kg/h or t/h from the weight values of the individual batches and the determined time per weighing.

The powerful ModWeigh CDW electronics control the filling and emptying processes and analyse the load cell signals.
