The CDW from MTS is a conveyor discharge weigher for recording small to medium feed rates.

It is suitable as an addition to classic built-in belt scales and solid flow meters if these cannot be used due to the low feed rate or the installation situation.

The weighing is static – therefore these scales achieve very accurate measuring results.

The conveyor discharge weigher consists of a support frame with load cells and a rectangular weighing hopper. The function carried out via a pneumatic flap control and proximity initiator for position monitoring of the flap.

The support frame is permanently installed on the discharge of the conveyor unit; the weighing hopper is suspended from three load cells.

All parts of the hopper subject to wear and discharge flap are made of Hardox 400 (HB 400).

The scale is equipped with a protective grille for safety reasons.

The conveyor discharge weigher is available up to a capacity of 5 m³/h.


The bulk material is fed to the conveyor discharge weigher via a conveyor unit, e.g. a conveyor belt or a conveyor trough, and fills the weighing hopper until a defined setpoint is reached.

Then the feed is stopped and the weighing hopper is statically weighed. The flap opens and the hopper is emptied.

The flap closes, the hopper is tared and the feed starts again for the next weighing cycle.

Filling and emptying process as well as the load cell signals are controlled and evaluated by the powerful control unit ModWeigh Batch.

On the one hand, the control unit records the weight value of the weighing hopper and accumulates the individual batch values in the totalizer; at the same time, the ModWeigh also generates the feed rates in kg/h or t/h from the weight values of the individual batches and the time unit determined for a weighing.
