Description

The solid flow meter JesFlow by Jesma is used for the continuous weighing of free flowing bulk materials. The product flow rate is recorded and evaluated gravimetrically during the throughput.

The JesFlow is deliverable in different sizes and enables thus a variable adjustment to the respective conveying capacity. It can thereby realise capacity ranges up to 50 m³/h, without diminishing the measuring accuracy.

 

The stable mechanics and the dustproof enclosure guarantee a high reliability and low maintenance cycles. The low height of only approx. 524 mm (without inlet hopper) allows for a quick installation even in existing and narrow conveyors. The separation of product area and measuring chamber makes the usage in dustproof and Ex zones possible (optional).

Functioning

The solid flow meter JesFlow is based on the principle of centripetal force.

 

The material flow rate is defined by the inlet hopper of the enclosure and directed to the measurement chute. When the material arrives on the curved chute, a deflection of the material flow rate occurs from the vertical downstream axis into a circular flow. According to Newton’s second law of motion, a centrifugal force is exerted upon the product which then results in a counteracting force – the centripetal force – upon the suspension of the chute.

 

This force is recorded by a high precision strain gauge load cell situated in the measurement enclosure. Compared to the impact scale, the measuring principle of the solids flow meter allows for a continuous and exact weighing of very light bulk materials, such as powder or granulates.
