The sensor daisy S is a strain gauge recording very small elongations in steel constructions.
This sensor is ideally used in silos, tanks and other vessels with a base frame. The sensor can be retrofitted at any time without interrupting the production process.
In contrast to conventional level control systems, the daisy sensor is particularly suitable for bulk material which is difficult to handle, e.g. truck preloading, level control in storage silos and tanks, elongation and tension measurements at steel constructions or overload and threshold signaling.
Measurements with daisy S are characterised by their high repetition accuracy and long-term stability.
In order to avoid thermal influences due to solar radiation, among other things, the silo props can be provided with an easy-to-fit isolation.
The daisy S sensor is held in a force-locked manner on the respective steel construction via two M6-bolts.
Charging or discharging of the silo produces a mechanical load upon the base frame, thus generating a material deformation within the steel props, which is accurately recorded by the daisy-sensor.
Thereby a positive or negative change in resistance of the sensor bridge is triggered. A control unit connected in series, which ensures power supply at the same time, transforms the change in resistance into an electric output signal.
Different loads resulting from non-uniform charging or from strong winds in case of outdoor vessels can be almost completely compensated by means of parallel connection of several daisy sensors in one measurement unit.
