The hollow shaft encoder RO3100 is used to measure the belt speed in conveyors and in combination with the MTS built-in belt scales and weigh feeders.
The speed sensor is either directly installed on the speed measuring wheel of the scale or on the bend pulley of the conveyor.
The incremental hollow shaft encoder RO3100 open to one side has a diameter of 12 mm. It works with a magnetic detection system. The resolution of up to 10,000 pulses per revolution ensures highest measuring accuracy. The hollow shaft encoder is therefore ideal for slow moving conveyors and for applications where higher requirements are placed on the measuring accuracy.
The sampling rate is pre-configured from 1 to 10,000.
Installation on the measuring wheel:
The measuring wheel runs on the lower belt and records the current belt speed. On the basis of its own weight, the measuring wheel is located frictionally engaged on the belt and is driven by the belt movement. The peripheral speed of the wheel is exactly to the belt speed.
Installation on the bend pulley:
The sensor is directly connected to the bend pulley and ensures a high measurement accuracy without being affected by slip or material accumulation.
